Our alumni Lee Byung Yoon(Department of Costume Design, 13) and Park Tae Yong(Department of Costume Design, 20) were selected as scholarship recipients for overseas fashion schools and scholarship recipients for domestic fashion schools (lower division), respectively, for the 5th MDF Fashion Design Competition.

Lee Byung Yoon will be working as a designer in Cusikok after graduating in 2020 and will be enrolling in a master's program at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, U.K. As a result of the award, he will receive a scholarship of up to 200 million won, including full tuition and living expenses for the next two years. Meanwhile, Park Tae Yong, a second-year costume design student, will receive a scholarship worth 20 million won, including full tuition and living expenses for the next two years.

Launched in 2020, the competition, organized by the MD Foundation, annually selects and supports two scholarship students from overseas fashion schools, six scholarship students from domestic fashion schools, and six scholarship students from overseas fashion exhibitions. The theme of the 2024 competition is “From Catwalk to Street: Subcultural Style and Fashion,” and the winners were selected through the first stylization judgment, the second physical judgment (portfolio judgment for lower grades), and the third production judgment.
