The alumni hall, built in 1978, has been for more than 40 years. All parts of the building were worn and warn out and unsustainable. Most of the paint in the hallway was peeland unsightly.

There have been discussions about remodeling for the past 15 years, but progress has been frustrating. The finance of the alumni association was not enough to raise constructioncosts.

However, the will of the association and the enthusiastic participation of alumni members have helped solve the problem. A remodeling promotion team consisting of alumni architects visited the alumni hall several times to conduct due dilligerce and design. Alumni gathered about 30 percent of the target amount within a month of rasing funds.

The remodeling was completed after two months of construction. The ugly exterior, entrance, and hallway were neatly decorated, and the name "Kookmin University Alumni Hall" was engraved on the outer wall with a logo reveal the identity of the building.
