Seo Hyun-jeong, a Ph.D. student in the Management track of the Department of Business Administration at our university’s Graduate School (advisor: Kim Najung), presented her research findings at the annual conference of the European Academy of Management (EURAM 2026), held on June 9.

The European Association for Management (EURAM) is a prestigious international academic organization comprising leading management scholars from around the world. At this year’s annual conference, held under the theme “Navigating High Waters—Managing in an Age of Disruption,” a total of 1,809 carefully selected papers from around the world were presented.

Student Seo Hyun-jeong presented her research, “Development and Validation of a Safety Leadership Scale,” during a special online session. This study introduced a dynamic competency perspective to develop a new scale based on Sensing, Seizing, and Transforming, and through empirical analysis, demonstrated that safety leadership manifests as an organic combination of organizational and individual factors. It was recognized for presenting a new paradigm for flexible safety change within organizations amid uncertain environments and for successfully structuring safety leadership in industrial settings.

This published paper was conducted as part of the project “Development and Validation of a Safety Leadership Scale: Focusing on the Dynamic Competence Model,” supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea. Following last year’s selection for the Outstanding Paper Presentation Award from the Korean Leadership Society, this presentation at the European Management Association continues to garner consistent recognition for the research’s coherence and validity within both domestic and international academic circles.

These achievements are significant in that they once again showcase the global research capabilities of our university’s doctoral program to the international academic community.
