Kookmin University's Baek Guk-hyun, a student majoring in fashion design, won the grand prize at the 2000 Archives Fashion Design Contest & Awards. Meanwhile, Minjeong Koo (21) and Eun-young Kang (22) of the Department of Fashion Design were also among the 10 finalists, raising the status of the Department of Fashion Design at our university.

The final round was held at the headquarters of 2000 Archives, and the 10 finalists participated in the competition to showcase their abilities within the given time. The participants presented their fashion illustrations under the theme of “Sporty Couture” for 45 minutes, and then demonstrated their design capabilities through schematic drawing for the next 45 minutes. After the contest, the participants were given the opportunity to receive immediate feedback from a panel of expert judges and further improve the quality of their work.

The judging panel for this competition was composed of key figures from 2000 Archives and industry experts. The judges included Creative Director Daeun Hong, Lead Designer Seungyeon Cho, and Atelier Manager Kangmin Kim, who praised the participants' passion and creativity. The judges emphasized the significance of the contest, saying, “This contest will be a stepping stone for young designers to gain practical experience and grow.”

The grand prize winner, Kookhyun Baek, received a prize of 1,000,000 won, a scholarship, and a certificate. In addition, the winners from 2nd to 4th place were given the opportunity to gain practical experience by being offered a 2000 Archives internship.
