Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul)'s Next Generation Communication Business Unit (Director Park Jun Seok) will hold a training on 'Line Tracer Using Communication Protocol (BLE)' from July 29 (Monday) to August 1 (Thursday) as part of the public-private collaborative informatization training with Seongbuk-gu.

Kookmin University was selected in June last year as the host university for the 'Next Generation Communication' section of the Innovation Convergence University Project, organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, and is participating in the project in a consortium with Seoul National University, Ulsan National University of Science and Technology, Chonnam National University, Korea Aerospace University, and the local government of Gwangju.

In the 2023 academic year, the first round of public-private cooperative informatization education was held for 20 youths from a local children's center in Seongbuk-gu, and in the 2024 academic year, it will be expanded to cover all middle and high school students in Seongbuk-gu.

The line tracer training using the communication protocol (BLE) is centered on learning about small vehicle software programming and line tracing autonomous driving experiments and practice based on iFLine, a line tracer that uses a microcontroller (ESP32) to control IR sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and DC motors.

Through this training, Kookmin University's Next Generation Communication Business Unit plans to share the achievements of the Next Generation Communication Innovation Convergence University project with the local community and continue to support experience-oriented and substantial educational contents so that local youth can be curious and explore the cutting-edge technologies of the future.
