The technologies and driving of the autonomous vehicle that is being studied in the Kookmin Unmanned Vehicle Research Laboratory was introduced in Car Talk Show of Channel A. Car Talk Show is a program that provides and shares information on vehicles that drew the interest of viewers in the presence of vehicle experts and enthusiasts in Korea. For the 19th episode of the program, the autonomous vehicle that is being developed in the Kookmin Unmanned Vehicle Research Laboratory was actually experienced and its operation principles and major technologies were introduced.

Especially, the core technologies of the autonomous vehicle, LiDAR, Camera, GPS, and various sensors were introduced and it suggested the practical direction promoted in the research of the Kookmin Unmanned Vehicle Research Laboratory. It is also said that it fully reflected the achievement realized in the Kookmin Unmanned Vehicle Research Laboratory as the program showed the course of autonomous cognition, decision, and control to drive a vehicle with the use of high-tech sensors while promoting unmanned driving.

Academic advisor and professor Jeong-ha Kim in the Kookmin Unmanned Vehicle Research Laboratory (Department of Automotive Engineering) said that the development of an autonomous vehicle focused on the functions as if a vehicle is being driven by a person and therefore, it required a recognition system like the eyes and ears of a person, navigation system to decide where to go, control system like the arms and legs of a person, and integration system like the human brain.
