The research team including BarthwalSumit (in doctoral course of Department of Nano Science &Technology) from MEMS in Kookmin University and the control laboratory(Professor Si-Hyung Lim, website:http://lims.kookmin.ac.kr), Young-SooKim(in master course of Department of Mechanical Engineering),Byung-HaKang (Professor,Department of Mechanical Engineering)Professor Si-Hyung Lim (Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering) was selected as Best Poster Award (3rd Prize) with a thesis titled:“Superoleophobic Dual Metal Oxide Hybrid Structures Based in Copper Substrate”at the International Symposium on Nature-Inspired Technology held in High One Resort from the 6thto 9thof January 2013.

This international symposium is a place where international and domestic researchers connected with nature-inspired technology among materials, surfaces, actuators, fluids, Bio-MEMS/NEMS, robots, etc. present the latest results of research.

The thesis awarded realized a surface characteristic having a high contact angle and a low angle of slide in regards to water and various oils in producing dual metal oxide hybrid structures based in copper substrate, with the production ofnanostructures consisting of cobalt oxide on the structure and a micro structure though alkali liquefied oxide on a surface of copper.

They received good resultsin their research that can be applied to the industry with various engineering applications like three dimensional large metal materials in whichthemanufacturing process is economical and simple, preventing pollution, reducing drag, and protecting ice.
