Yu-Kyung Suh from the graduate school got an excellent thesis award in the International Conference on Earth Observations and Societal Impacts at NTU of Taipei Taiwan on June 25th-27th of this year, and In Kyu Jung got an excellent thesis award in the Autumn Academic Conference opened by KAGIS at Jeju University.

The title of Yu-Kyung Suh’s reward thesis is: “Mapping of Solar Energy Resources on the Korean Peninsula Using 5m-DEM and Satellite Imagery” (refer to below and right side) and In Kyu Jung’s title is: Application an Ork’s Wilt Detection of Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle” (refer to below and left side). Commentary on each one said they contributed to creatively developing technology and improving rare study as graduate students.

Receiving these rewards is a result of fusion education in applied information technology and natural science from our own graduate school Dept. of AlT. Also, we can see their efforts from their experience in that they published their thesis at an academic conference. Although they are college students, they can receive awards based on their experiences.

For reference from the Dept. of Applied Information Technology: AIT Professor Chun Kim founded a low cost, high efficiency education research system in the first semester of 2007 with the graduate school’s cooperation.
