Passed the final audition of the Peridance Capezio Center / Department of Dance in the School of Performing Arts

A student from the Department of Dance in the School of Performing Arts earned the glory of passing the final audition for the Certification Program and Blueprint Intensive Program hosted by the Peridance Capezio Center last October 30th (Academic advisor: Professor Young Moon, Kyung-mo Kang, and Sun-soo Kim).

The Peridance Capezio Center (Artistic director: Igal Perry) is an international dance studio located in New York, U.S. and this professional dance institute cultivates and produces global dancers. Artistic director Igal Perry visits countries worldwide to select future dancers and dance-majoring students through an audition. Those who passed the audition are granted a chance to study in the Peridance Capezio Center. The audition promoted in Kookmin University, Yeong-min Yun (class of 2012) who is a junior majoring in dance in the School of Performing Arts passed the Certification Program ($24,000 scholarship for 2 years) and for the Blueprint course (3 months training and $2,400 scholarship), Min-wu Gwak (class of 2013), Hyeon-jun Im (class of 2013), and Seong-min Yi (class of 2014) from the Department of Dance in the School of Performing Arts were selected.

Especially for this audition, 48 students who represented Korea National University of Arts, Ewha Womans University, Hansung University, and Sejong University participated, and Yeong-min Yun (class of 2012) of Kookmin University was selected as the top for the Certification Program. The selected students will study in the Peridance Capezio Center in New York, U.S. from summer of 2015.
