Kookmin University signed the first-in-the-nation Education &Research Exchange Agreement with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information to educate human resources in the field of Big Data

Kookmin University signed an education &research exchange agreement with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) in the fields of Big Data and Business Analytics on June 12, 2012.

This was possible as Koomin University is planning to establish the first-in-the-nation Business Analytics & Statistics Major at its College of Business Administration from 2013.

The new major is a Business Analytics related major, which converges traditional Business Administration Studies and Statistics with Big Data Analytics.

This major aims to train professionals who can effectively analyze and evaluate today’s vast amount of information to predict the future based on a business and analytical mindset.

Kookmin University is the first institution in Korea which will teach Big Data-based Business Administration Analytics at undergraduate level.

Dr. Kim, Yong Min, Dean of Business Administration, explained “Although the new major will be established within the School of Business Administration, we will also recruit students who completed natural sciences track in high school in order to recruit young talents who possess not only logical and mathematical thinking, but also converging thoughts.”
