The National University of Korea (President Jeong Seung-ryul) Graduate School of Business Administration (Dean KIM, Dohyeon) and the National Police Agency have collaborated to launch the “2025 Public Safety AI and Data Analysis Expert Training Program,” which aims to cultivate experts who can utilize AI and data technology to analyze data directly and propose solutions to public safety issues. The program's opening ceremony was held on April 21 (Monday).

This program, which began in 2023 and is now in its third year, will run for approximately two months until June 20 at Kookmin University. It will target 20 outstanding candidates selected through prior educational performance evaluations from among talents recommended by the National Police Agency's departments and divisions. The program will be conducted by a team of AI and data analysis experts, providing a total of 120 hours of theoretical and practical education, as well as mentoring-based projects. The opening ceremony was attended by Kim Do-hyun, president of Kookmin University, along with university faculty members and representatives from the National Police Agency's Future Public Safety Policy Bureau. At the opening ceremony, KIM, Dohyeon, Dean of the Graduate School of Business Administration at Kookmin University, said, “We welcome those who have participated in this education program to solve security issues in the field amid the astonishingly rapid development of AI technology. We will spare no effort in providing the educational know-how accumulated since the establishment of the AI Big Data major at the Graduate School of Business Administration in 2013, our outstanding faculty, and state-of-the-art educational environment. We look forward to the outcomes of this education being applied directly to the field, contributing to the further development of public safety in our country.”

“2025 Public Safety AI and Data Analysis Expert Training Program” is a specialized training program jointly developed by the National Police Agency's Future Public Safety Policy Bureau and Kookmin University. It consists of a two-week intensive training program covering core competencies required for data analysis personnel, such as internal and external data collection, processing, visualization, machine learning, and deep learning, as well as a six-week advanced training program that involves solving actual police work problems using real-world data.

Meanwhile, Kookmin University's Graduate School of Business Administration has been offering a master's program in AI Big Data since 2013 to train professionals in practical AI and big data fields. In particular, it contributes to expanding the base of AI and big data by providing weekend full-day classes and HyFlex learning to facilitate the smooth completion of the program for working professionals. The application period for the 2025 academic year's second semester admissions for this program will run from May 19 to June 9.
