Young Soo Son(College of Industrial Design, Class of 2005) won silver in the Futuristic Car Design Competition

This year was the 9th Futuristic Car Design Competition, and two KMU students, Young Soo Son (College of Industrial Design, Class of 2005) and Kyung Chan Lee (College of Industrial Design, Class of 2005) won the silver and bronze prizes respectively. The competition is organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP) in partnership with the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA).

Young Soo Son, a senior at KMU, wants to be a car designer after he graduates. He is currently preparing for the Reddot Design Award competition in May, where university students from all over the world are asked to design a "future-oriented" car.

A total of 51 car designs from 17 countries will participate in the competition. When asked about his design, 'Cross R2,' Young Soo Son said, "The following strengths were integrated into this car: vehicle access, economic efficiency and speed of Future Ultra-high Speed Maglev Train, etc." The awards ceremony for the Futuristic Car Design Competition will be held on April 4th at the KINTEX center in Ilsan. The finalists' projects will be on display at the Seoul Motor Show.
