Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul) has been awarded an Excellent (S) rating by the Ministry of Unification for the 2022-2023 Unification Education Program.

The Unification Education Leading University Program is a project in which the Ministry of Unification selects universities in each region that operate unification education systematically, professionally, and effectively and provides about 1 billion won over four years. The program aims to raise the unification consciousness of future generations by producing university students who consider the pre- and post-unification stages of a unified Korea through the creativity and appropriateness of the unification education model in both curricular and non-curricular areas, as well as the institutionalization and spread of the model. In particular, it was highly praised for making new attempts by incorporating unification themes into its representative educational programs, "Team Team Class" and "Community Mapping." In addition, it was also distinguished by the establishment of core liberal arts courses such as "Unification Colloquium," "Unification Musical," and "National University Student Unification Debate Competition," as well as leading academic, governmental, and civic projects.
