Kookmin University, held the 2nd Conference on Korean Language Education for Learners in Arabic Culture

Kookmin University (President Ji-soo Yu) held ‘the 2nd Conference on Korean Language Education for Learners in Arabic Culture’ to help in the education of foreign students from Arabic culture from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the 27th (Sat.). This event that was jointly supervised by Kookmin University and Saudi Arabia Cultural Center was an opportunity for the foreign students from Arabic culture, teachers of Korean language, and experts and parties concerned in Korean language education to share their learning and teaching experiences on Korean language education while strengthening a sense of cooperation and exchange.
In this conference themed with ‘Effective education measures in the Korean language class,’ it was progressed with lecture demonstration that reproduced the real class setting, presentations on unique Korean language studying method of Arabic students, and presentations of the educational measures on reading, listening, and pronunciation by current teachers.
Among the projects for Arabic culture, the government of Saudi Arabia specially promotes various national scholarship projects for their students’ study in Korean universities and based on consistent exchange with the government of Saudi Arabia and universities in Arabic culture, about 80 Arabic students, which is the largest scale in Korea, are studying in the Korean Language Center, undergraduate, and graduate courses in Kookmin University.
Meanwhile, Kookmin University successfully held the 1st Korean Language Speech Contest for Arabic Students in last April and having this conference as a momentum, Kookmin University expects to mark a milestone in making progress on Korean language education for the students from Arabic culture.
