Kookmin University, acquired a certification mark of web accessibility for the representative homepage

Kookmin University (President Ji-soo Yu) improved web accessibility for the disabled in the university homepage (www.kookmin.ac.kr). From May this year, Kookmin University has promoted web accessibility security business in the university homepage for the disabled and it was promoted according to the implementation of the law on disability discrimination and right protection.
Through this business, Kookmin University promoted improvement work on 4 principles, 13 guidelines, and 22 test items of “Guidelines for Korean web contents accessibility 2.0” while providing alternative texts for non-text contents like images, alternative measures for multimedia contents like videos and improving accessibility through enhanced brightness contrast between text contents and background.
With such efforts, Kookmin University acquired a certification from WebWatch Co., Ltd. that is an affiliated organization of the Human Rights Forum of Persons with Disabilities and at the same time, it provided the framework of the university homepage in consideration of the socially vulnerable class.
