- 13.09.11 / 김소영
The five project teams of Kookmin University were selected for the “BK21 Plus Project” that is hosted by the Ministry of Education and executed by the National Research Foundation of Korea on August 16th and through this, a total of about 8.35 billion won will be supported for 7 years from 2013 to 2019. Such splendid achievement is more meaningful as it could be realized amidst unfavorable circumstances through the excellent research competence of the participating faculty and support from the university, including the president, in various programs such as expanded support to minor research-oriented universities and local universities.
Support of the BK21 Plus Project of the Ministry of Education includes financial support for the existing WCU (World Class University) that intends to cultivate ‘the top creative human resource with master’s and doctorate degree’ and graduate course that is promoted as a subsequent measure of the second-phase BK21 Project for the creative economy of the new government. These projects aim to cultivate research-centered global universities as well as professionals specialized in each academic field, core technical areas, and convergence industry.
Through this achievement, Kookmin University will construct the foundation to spring as a research-centered university by being granted a total of 8.35 billion won of government’s financial support for chemistry, electronic engineering, business administration, and design.
